Crafting Joy, One Creation at a Time

Greetings!
I served in the United States Marine Corps for 26 years. Yes, you read that right, little ole me was in the biggest boy’s club in the USA. I’ve gone to six countries and have been stationed at 15 bases, some of them twice. That’s a lot of packing, moving, and unpacking! My years in the Corps taught me discipline, resilience, and the profound impact of small acts of service, values that still guide me today.
Gratitude as a Way of Life
Retirement opened my eyes to the beauty of ordinary moments. Now, I practice gratitude like a daily mission: jotting down blessings in my journals, savoring quiet mornings with a cup of tea, and sending greeting cards to remind others they’re seen and appreciated. (Because who doesn’t love happy mail?)
Crafting with Heart & Paper
My favorite craft is paper. There’s so much beautiful paper out there, and in my craft room, that I wanted to do something worthwhile with it. So I thought I would show everyone how to make simple yet elegant cards that they can send to someone who needs a Happy Mailbox Moment.
When I’m not writing and sending cards, I’m turning scraps of paper into something meaningful, like handmade magnetic bookmarks (my latest obsession!). Each one is a tiny canvas for creativity, often tucked into the cards I send or gifted to fellow book lovers. There’s magic in creating something useful and beautiful. I’ve even started a monthly Bookish Mail Club. I also have a fundraiser with origami bookmarks to raise money for homeless veterans.
Quotes That Fuel My Days
I’m a lifelong collector of quotes—words that challenge, comfort, or kick me into gear. You’ll find them scribbled in my journals and sometimes inked onto those bookmarks. A great quote is like a compass: it points you back to what matters. I also send a daily quote right into your mailbox.
I’m so glad you’re here. Stay awhile, and let’s inspire each other!
Semper Fidelis,
Bess Corriveau
PS. Drop me a note—I’d love to send you a card!
